How DID I:

ChemDraw and place it on my webpage?

 

·        Open ChemDraw : Start, Programs , ChemOffice, ChemDraw

·        Select the Cyclohexane Ring tool

·        Bring the cursor to the page and click.

 

·        If I want to create a benzene ring instead, select the Solid Bond tool and click the cursor, then select the double bond tool and go on 3 different sides of the cycle and click on each of them, this will give 3 double bonds and the other 3 bonds (left there) will be singles bonds.

·        Now I have a benzene ring.

·        Save As: Save the image as a .gif file to be posted on the webpage

 

Editing:

·        Go to Mozilla and Open personal webpage.

·        Type in the browser:  www.sas.upenn.edu/~nader

·        Click – File > Edit Page

·        Determine appropriate location for image and click

·        Go to Insert > Image

·        Click “Choose File” for image location

·        Locate the image, benzene.gif, and select it

·        For Alternate Text, Type “Benzene Ring”

·        Click OK

 

Posting:

·        Save changes to the webpage, Save as > index.html

·        Replace the old index.html

·        Open FileZilla

·        Connect to rachelmr_web, enter password *******

·        Locate the index.html file on the local site and drag it to the html folder

·        Replace the old index.html

·        Drag benzene.gif to html folder

·        Update File Attributes (remember the upside down U)

·        Close FileZilla, Reload the webpage and it has been posted.
